USA Racquetball

Greetings

I would like to thank everyone who participated and came out to watch the 2013 South Carolina State Singles on March 1-3, 2013 in Charleston, SC. The tournament I thought went really well the whole weekend. I would like to give a special thanks to Steve Silverman who ran the desk the whole weekend, Donald Grunstra for getting the food for us, Karen Prine on helping out with getting the t-shirts, Brian Burke for letting us use the racquetball courts and staying open when the gym was closed and the rest of the board for helping out the whole weekend. I wouldn’t have been able to do the tournament without everyone’s help. We also had our annual board meeting during the State Singles Tournament and there were four board members that were coming off and I would like to thank them for being on and for all their help during the past three years. They were JoAnn Groover, Todd Ferber, Angel Miranda and Trey Jones. With the election, we re-elected Angel Miranda for 3 years and Trey Jones for the next 2 years and then we elected Russ Bruns, Jaswinder Pal and Gary Shojaie for the next 3 years. I would like to thank the Board members this past year for everyone’s help. I would like to also thank the Officers that were on this past year too. Bill Watkins-Vice President, Teri Block-Treasurer, and Kathleen Cartland-Secretary for all there help too. I wouldn’t have been able to do everything without you. We have re-elected new Board Officers and they are: Russ Bruns-President, Angel Miranda-Vice President, Teri Block-Treasurer, and Trey Jones-Secretary. So this is my last blog as being President for the SCRPA association and I would like to thank everyone that was behind me and helped out the past two years when I was President. So if you do have any questions about SC Racquetball or Racquetball in general you can email Russ Bruns at the same email I was using which was scrpapresident@gmail.com
Thanks,
Shawn Dodd

National Rule Changes for 2011 Racquetball Season

After noting that some forty-one percent of the general membership voted in favor of Option 3, a majority of the USAR’s Board of Directors agreed that a doubles team should be allowed to have either partner serve first each time the team comes “in” to serve and that an “out’ should be assessed to the team if a partner who has lost the serve attempts to serve again during that inning.
